    Sample Feedback

    • “This has been my favourite module so far. Mind-blowing, challenging, engaging and thoroughly enjoyable.” / “A brilliantly prepared and presented module, exceedingly challenging but thoroughly enjoyable. A very approachable and helpful lecturer.” / “It’s been my favourite module. It’s been so engaging and genuinely changed the way I see the world. My faith is stronger from an intellectual standpoint and it has caused me to wonder more at the greatness of God.” / “VLE set-up was superb, very clear where to find information and the readings” (‘God and Creation’ Students, LST, Spring 2022).

    • “The weekly sessions were excellent. Austin was always prepared, engaging and insightful.” / “Austin's teaching was invaluable in clarifying the material and learning objectives” / “Austin is an excellent tutor” / “Austin was excellent in this regard [approachability and guidance]. He provided prepared guidance during weekly meetings and also entertained all questions with respect.” / “I commend Austin's teaching style, which was engaging and made the material much easier to understand” / “Austin's feedback on my formative essay was thoughtful and comprehensive.” / “This module indeed certainly deepened my spiritual knowledge of Christ. The discussions in the tutorials have helped me on my spiritual journey.” / “I have been able to more deeply explore key aspects of my Faith.” (Christology Ancient & Modern Students, LST, Autumn 2022)

    • “Austin’s lecture was the best introduction to classical Christology I have heard. He moved with a light touch through some complex areas of thought, picking out the essential points, and illustrating them with simple, striking graphics. He made very helpful connections between the topic of his lecture and other areas in theology and the life of the Church, so that a rich and fruitful discussion naturally followed his presentation” (Fr Conor McDonough OP, Convenor of St Savior’s Symposium, Dublin)

    • “[The student reps] asked me to pass on to you their great appreciation of your teaching, which they found informative, encouraging & inspiring in equal measure.” (Senior Administrator, Ridley Hall) / “The marking of the scripts seemed both consistent and fair. The feedback is extensive, both through general comment and specific comment in the body of the essays.” (External Moderator, Ridley Hall) / “Austin did a brilliant job of teaching the material.” / “The lectures were excellent, very knowledgeable and great delivery of the material.” (Students, Ridley Hall)

    • “Austin’s talk provided a stimulating and thought-provoking addition to St Albans Cathedral’s programme of talks and was especially welcome as it looked ahead to Holy Week, giving both theological and prayerful food for thought. Drawing on visual art and poetry to examine the mystery of Christology, Austin challenged the audience gently and intelligently, inspiring deep and wide-ranging responses from a clearly very engaged audience.” (Caroline Godden, Adult Learning Officer, St Alban’s Cathedral)
