Reading List: Race, Religion, and Literature

The Cambridge Divinity Faculty has put together a great bibliography on Race, Theology, and Religion (https://www.divinity.cam.ac.uk/RaceTheologyReligion).

In addition, here are some of my favorite (relatively recent) novels and memoirs by black authors that deal with similar themes. Over the years, these stories have been, for me, a catalyst toward understanding, empathy, and solidarity. Plus, they are just plain good.
